Here are some resources our leaders have found useful and shared.
Please feel free to use these yourself and to contribute your own ideas and updates.
Den meeting resources
scouting.org Cub Scout Division: Den Meetings. According to this the cubmaster and committee work to help plan out den meetings. This is probably a good idea. We should work on phasing this in and incorporate class syllabus activities as well. (science fair etc.)
Check out one or Mr. Marcotte's planning schedules for his Wolf den.
Copy of Tour Permit
Here is a PDF of the joining form too.
LSS Pack 221 Non Discrimination agreement is also required of all Pack 221 adult leaders.
Here are some tools I use, all free to use most even to modify:
A very complete and very Microsoft-proprietary compatible office suite:

Create PDF files:

Firefox of course:

Useful supplies for dens and more!
Ride-on home made cars need wheels. Here are a few ideas to source tires:
NortherTool.com
For about $10 looks like you can get a decent wheel complete with bearings. (search for pneumatic wheel if this link doesn't take you directly there)
See this page for software to read and write any files found on this website.
Templates and craft ideas.

| All | Geocaching This is a fun activity where you use a GPS device to locate goodies hidden all over the world by people and kids of all ages. Some of these "caches" are part of games, others are just excuses to hike to a location and still others contain "travel bugs" which are intended to be taken from one cache to another, with it's trip logged by fellow geocachers. This is the Geocaching.com website. |
| all | Lake Compouce Note the sleep-over option and education days. Not sure that dens could do this of if it is pack level...and the sleepover requires 50+ kids, so we'd need more than our pack to do this anway. Still it seems to be a cool program. |
