August 2008 Committee Meeting Agenda take II
Thursday Sept 11 Ice Cream Social
- Joining table - who can attend (in uniform! Kids included?) We need to have recruiting materials ready for this as well.
- Volunteers for the event in general - let's get more coverage than we need for this so that we can also be visible volunteering behind the sundae table or at the front door as well! The more visible and active we are in the community the stronger Pack 221 will become
- Anyone in touch with Girls Scouts please suggest they attend as well. It's nice to have both sides represented at these things
Treasurer
- budget for next year
- Dennis T. will be taking on Treasurer role from Bill G this year
Can Drive
Saturday Sept 20 is our first can drive of the school year.Pack Bike Ride
7 scouts and 2 siblings. It was a success! What worked well and what should change?
Popcorn Kernel Report
- Budget $100?
- $30 for popcorn kickoff kit ("the hat")
- $30 6 yard signs for S&S days
- $20 +$20 for prizes and stunt supplies(pack kickoff and den meetings $20 from usual pack prize money)
- includes prizes and for example beach balls for game/stunts
- Show and sell scouting has begun
- looking for donations of prizes(tickets?)
- games for Pop-off and Den Cheezies
- print online order forms for each kid on card stock
Vernon Bicentenial Parade - Oct 5

- schedule is under calendar->Council Activities. it appears it is indicating all full and cannot register, but only Nov 8 was full according to Joe Smith (as of 8-22-2008)
Review 2008-2009 Calendar
- Pack meetings begin at 6:30 this year
#Raingutter regatta/space derby event in the fall(October?)
- who is interested in helping?
- got 2 raingutter race-waterways donated from Guttermaster
- need to build the gutter supports and try it out
- Need a place to host this event that will tolerate possible water leaks/spills. Perhaps the Cafeteria would work at LSS
Scout joining night/recruitment activities
- Need 2 leaders to commit to attending the training Monday
- Hit up area schools that don't have affiliated pack/parochial school?
- kids "business card" type cards to have kids share?
- trading cards of kids? How have others done this?
- Flyers to teachers to go to kids
- Make a game out of kids sharing about scouts somehow (maybe game for kids being recruited too?)
